Castle Water and Thames Water have agreed the transfer of Thames’ retail activities for business customers ahead of deregulation of the business water market in April 2017.
Castle Water will carry out all aspects of customer service, including invoicing, billing and service queries, and collecting payments.
Castle Water currently supplies water services to customers in Portsmouth on behalf of Portsmouth Water, and supplies thousands of customers in Scotland, where the market has been deregulated since 2008. Castle Water operates all its customer services in-house from its customer service centre in Perthshire, and does not use external call centres. Castle Water has extensive expertise in providing water services to business customers, including operating affinity partnerships with NFU Scotland and the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations.
“Castle Water is excited about the opportunity to provide services to customers in the Thames Water area, building on our experience as one of the fastest growing water suppliers in the UK.”
John Reynolds, CEO of Castle Water
“Castle Water, like Thames Water, prides itself on delivering high levels of service at a competitive price and is therefore ideally placed to satisfy the retail needs of our business customers, allowing us to focus all our energy on delivering excellent operational water and wastewater services to all our customers and retail services to household customers.”
Martin Baggs, Chief Executive of Thames Water
